Grand Tour Painting,"Poesia", After Carlo Dolci
Grand Tour painting , "Poesia" after Carlo Dolci (1616-1687) oil on board. This work was executed by Michele Cortazzi after the original by Carlo Dolci that is in the collection of the National Gallery of Palazzo Corsini in Rome. Michele Cortazzi was a notable copyist of famous paintings in the first half of the 19th century . He was a master at reproducing works of art by old masters that were exhibited in museums . His paintings were sold in art galleries destined to the the wealthy tourists from England and America doing the Grand Tour of Italy . This painting is painted on a wood panel fitted with counter grain stretchers just like the original 15th century works, one of the stretchers bears a hand written inscription: "Painted in Florence by Michele Cortazzi in the winter of 1847-48". Set in a carved giltwood frame. Dimension of painting only: 21 x 16

ADNET, Françoise (1924-2014) - Girl in a dress . Françoise Adnet was the daughter of of the most influencial French furniture designer of the the 20th century , Jacques Adnet. She was an accomplished musician, as well as a painter and developed her own artistic style influenced by fellow Parisian artists like Bernard Buffet Jean Jansem and Francis Gruber.
