Paul Dupré Lafon fut réputé à Paris pour etre l'architecte/décorateur des millionnaires. Painting of an Appeasing Nude by Adam Sherriff Scott
Adam Sherriff Scott was born in Perth, Scotland and began his art education in 1903 at the Edinburgh School of Art. He was awarded the Allen-Fraser Scholarship to continue his studies for four years at the Allen-Fraser institute, which was a finishing school for talented young artists, and studied under George Harcourt A.R.A. After this, he continued his studies at the Slade School under Henry Tonks as well as at the National Gallery and the Tate Gallery. In 1912, he moved to Canada. He worked for an American who commissioned him to paint large scenes of the Canadian West to sell to real estate agents. Scott moved to Montreal in 1915 He became a member of the Beaver Hall Hill Group, which included such artists as Lilias Torrance Newton, Randolph Hewton, Edwin Holgate and Robert Pilot. He was commissioned to paint numerous portraits, as well as posters for the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Southam Press. During the 1920s, he spent six years living with the Inuit and painted numerous scenes of their lives. He established the Adam Sherrif-Scott School of Fine Art, where he taught drawing and painting. He was elected ARCA in 1935 and a full member of the Royal Canadian Academy in 1944. Canada.

Gouache colorée abstraite par Gio Colucci
Gio Colucci, peintre, sculpteur, céramiste, est né à Florence, en Italie, en 1892. En 1911, il s'installe à Paris pour étudier l'architecture à l'école des Beaux-Arts. Colucci s'installe au Caire en 1914 où il travaille comme architecte. En 1917, il abandonne l'architecture et se met à peindre. Il se rend aux États-Unis et rapporte de nombreuses toiles. A son retour à Paris en 1919, Colucci expose à la galerie Allard. En 1921 et 1923, il participe au Salon d'Automne et au Salon des Surindépendants avec Gleizes, Herbin, Duchamp-Villon. Colucci revient à Paris en 1945 et expose ses céramiques à la galerie Christofle. En 1947, il participe au Salon des Décorateurs à Paris, et en 1952, il expose ses céramiques au Musée de Vallauris en Provence. La même année, la Galerie de l'Odéon expose ses sculptures polychromes qui ont une expression totale de liberté. En 1954, Colucci participe au Salon des Indépendants au Musée du Grand Palais où il expose des sculptures et des céramiques. Gio Colucci participe à la troisième Biennale consacrée à la sculpture en 1955 à Anvers en Belgique. En 1956, Colucci fonde, avec Gino Severini, l'École italienne des arts et en 1959, une rétrospective est organisée à la Juster's Gallery de New York ainsi qu'au Musée Rodin de Paris. Une rétrospective de son œuvre est organisée à New York en 1963. Le Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris expose plusieurs sculptures en bois polychromé, des céramiques mais aussi des verres Arcopal peints et collés de Colucci. L'artiste est décédé à Paris en 1974.
